Texas House to Vote on Impeachment of AG Ken Paxton

The Texas House of Representatives will convene on Saturday at 1 p.m. to act on 20 articles of impeachment filed against Attorney General Ken Paxton. Texas House Committee Votes Unanimously for 20 Articles of Impeachment Against AG Ken Paxton

The Texas House General Investigating Committee voted unanimously on Thursday in favor of 20 articles of impeachment against the state’s attorney general. A vote on the floor of the Texas House to impeach Ken Paxton could occur by the weekend and would result, if approved by a majority vote, in his suspension as attorney general pending a trial in the Texas Senate.

Exclusive Photos: Physical Barriers No Match for Surrendering Migrants at Texas Border Town

Authorities on both sides of the border could not prevent the entry of a steady stream of asylum-seeking migrants hoping to surrender to the Border Patrol. Despite the placement of Conex containers, concertina razor wire, and a more significant border wall constructed by the State of Texas, the migrants stubbornly moved around or crossed over the impediments. Migrant Apprehensions at Border Continue to Drop Post-Title 42

The apprehension of migrants crossing the borders between ports of entry continues to decline following the end of Title 42 on May 11. During the past three days, agents apprehended approximately 2,900 per day. This is down from a daily apprehension in excess of 9,000 per day in the final days of Title 42.

Record Number of Chinese Nationals Showing Up at U.S. Borders

Border Patrol agents in a single border sector arrested five migrants later discovered to be on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) watch list.
