PETA: NIH Tried to Help Disgraced Monkey Abusers in Colombia Keep Funding

Documents obtained by the rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) indicate that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) appears to have advised a decrepit monkey laboratory in Colombia on how to potentially continue to receive U.S. taxpayers’ dollars.

Two Colombian organizations owned by a husband-and-wife team have secured more than $17 million in NIH contracts since 2003. Former employees and troves of documents speak of questionable business practices and filthy conditions for monkeys.

Report: Russia Promising Cubans ‘Express’ Citizenship if They Fight in Ukraine
